Use of Marks, Wording and Registration Certificates
Certification is an invaluable marketing tool. Companies often want to display the fact that they are certified by using the HSB RS mark and the ANAB accreditation mark. As a result, there are specific rules governing the use of each mark as set forth by the various accreditation bodies, they are as follows:
GENERAL USAGE REQUIREMENTS:
- The HSB RS Mark and the HSB RS Certificate of Registration are the sole
property of HSB RS and are only available to the registrant for use according
to HSB RS requirements.
- The registered organization shall not use the HSB RS certification in such
a manner as to bring HSB RS or ANAB into disrepute and shall not make any
statement regarding its certification which either HSB RS or ANAB consider
inaccurate, misleading or unauthorized.
- The registrant shall identify an individual who is responsible for ensuring
compliance with the policies for application, reproduction, and display of
the Marks and Certificate of Registration, and shall maintain controlled
instructions on the use of marks and certificates.
- Registrants may display the HSB RS mark and the ANAB accreditation mark
on their stationery, literature, and promotional materials.
- Registrants may only use the ANAB accreditation mark in conjunction with
the HSB RS mark. The ANAB accreditation mark shall not be larger
or more conspicuous than the HSB RS mark. The ANAB accreditation mark
shall not be displayed in isolation from the HSB RS mark.
- The HSB RS mark and the ANAB accreditation mark shall not be used on a
product or in such a way as to suggest that HSB RS and/or ANAB have certified
or approved any product, process or service of a certified organization. The
registrant shall not display the Mark(s) or Certificate of Registration on
any product, product packaging/containers or on related products.
- If larger boxes, etc. used for transportation includes the mark(s), a
statement must be included. This could be a clear statement that "(This
product) was manufactured in a plant whose quality management system is
certified/registered as being in conformity with ISO 9001, AS9100 (specific
standards)
- A statement in words alone does not constitute a mark in this sense. Any such wording shall be true and not mislead. This shall be a clear statement, such as; "This product (or service) was provided by an organization whose quality management system is certified as being in conformity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100".
- Not permitted is the use of HSB RS mark or the ANAB accreditation mark
on reports and certificates from calibration and testing laboratories and
inspection bodies, as such reports are deemed to be products in this context.
- Upon suspension or withdrawal of HSB RS Certification of Registration, the organization
shall discontinue its use of all advertising matter that contains any reference
thereto, on stationery, literature or in any medium, and return any certification
documents as required by HSB RS.
ACCREDITATION BODY SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
ANAB
The ANAB accreditation mark shall be reproduced according to the following:
- In black or blue ink (PMS 2935 or equivalent)
- In a size which makes all features of the mark clearly distinguishable
- Without distortion of its dimensions
HSB
- PMS 125 and Black
- In a size which makes all features of the mark clearly distinguishable
- Without distortion of its dimensions
